Desktop app
The same Sellio, in its own window: notifications that reach you when the browser is buried, an unread count on the icon, and updates that install themselves.
What it adds
The desktop app is the hosted dashboard inside a native window, so everything in the browser works the same way and nothing has to be set up twice. What the shell adds:
Desktop apps are on every plan, Free included. Get them from the download page.
Install
First launch
- 1Windows: SmartScreen may show an Unknown publisher notice while the code-signing certificate is pending. Choose More info, then Run anyway. It appears once.
- 2macOS: the app is signed but not yet notarized, so the first launch is blocked. Close the warning, open System Settings, then Privacy and Security, scroll down and choose Open Anyway beside Sellio. The app opens normally after that.
On a Mac the same thing can be done from Terminal, which clears the download flag: xattr -cr /Applications/Sellio.app.
Sign in with your email and the six-digit code, as in the browser. Sign in with Google opens your system browser, because Google does not allow sign-in inside an app window; when it completes, the browser hands the session back to the app through a sellio:// link and the window comes forward signed in. If the app does not come forward, allow the link when the browser asks.
Updates
- The app checks for a new version when it starts and every four hours after that.
- A new version is downloaded in the background and offered with a Restart to update prompt; Later keeps the current one running until the next check.
- Updates are signed; the app refuses one that does not verify.
- Windows and macOS ship at the same version number. The current version is on the download page.
