Slack
Add the Sellio app to Slack so every new conversation opens a thread in a channel of your choice, and replies in that thread reach the customer.
What it does
Slack is a notify platform: it mirrors the inbox rather than being a customer channel. When a conversation starts, Sellio posts it to the Slack channel you pick and keeps the thread in step both ways, so a teammate who lives in Slack can answer without opening Sellio.
Before you start
- Permission to install apps in the Slack workspace (an admin, or a workspace that allows members to install).
- A channel for support notifications, such as #support.
Connect it
- 1In Sellio, open Settings, then Integrations, and choose Slack.
- 2Click Add to Slack, pick the Slack workspace, and approve the permissions. You return to Sellio with the workspace connected.
- 3Under Notify in, choose the channel that should receive new conversations, then save. No notifications is also an option, if you only want the connection for later.
- 4Start a test conversation from your website widget. A message appears in the Slack channel; reply in its thread and the reply reaches the visitor.
Once connected
- One thread per conversation. Later messages from the customer land in the same thread.
- A reply in the thread is sent to the customer as the teammate who wrote it, and appears in the Sellio inbox as an agent message.
- The same conversation can be mirrored to Discord and Microsoft Teams at once; a reply on one is shown on the others without echoing back.
- Sellio keeps one active Slack install per Slack workspace; connecting it from a second Sellio workspace moves it.
Connected channels count against the plan’s channel limit (one on Free, three on Mini, five on Essentials, twenty-five on Plus); see Plans and billing. Disconnecting a channel keeps its past conversations in the inbox.
What teams use this channel for, and how it compares, is on the Slack page.
