Help center and news
Content is where you write what customers can read on their own: a help center of articles in collections, and a news feed of product updates. Both are read by visitors in the chatbox and by the AI agent.
Overview
Content has two tabs. Help center is a set of collections, each a named group of articles with an icon and a description, ordered the way you want them shown. News is a single feed of dated updates with a title, a cover image and a body. Each article and update is a draft until you publish it, and can be scheduled to publish itself at a time you pick.
Help center
- 1Content, then Help center, then New collection. Name it (Getting started, Billing, Integrations), pick an icon, add a line of description.
- 2Inside the collection, New article. Write a title; the URL slug is made from it. An optional excerpt is the line shown under the title in lists.
- 3Write the body in the editor, then Publish, or Save draft to come back later.
- 4Order articles within a collection, and collections against each other, with Move up and Move down; that order is what visitors see.
- 5Move an article to another collection, duplicate it as a starting point for a similar one, or unpublish it to take it down without deleting it.
An article outside any collection sits under Uncategorized and is still searchable, but a collection reads better in the chatbox, so give every article a home.
News
Content, then News, then New update. A title, an optional cover image, and the body. Published updates appear newest first in the chatbox’s News tab as cards, which is where visitors learn what changed without an email. Use it for releases, pricing changes, planned maintenance and holidays.
The editor
Drafts, publishing, scheduling
- Draft: visible only in the dashboard. Save as often as you like.
- Published: visible in the chatbox and to the AI agent from that moment. Unpublish returns it to draft.
- Scheduled: pick a date and time on a draft and it publishes itself then. The scheduler checks every fifteen minutes, so it goes live within the quarter hour. Until then it stays hidden.
- Discard on an edited published article throws away the unsaved changes and keeps what visitors already see.
Where it shows up
- The chatbox. Published collections and articles are the Help tab, with a search; published updates are the News tab. A workspace with nothing published shows neither tab. See The chatbox.
- The AI agent. Published articles and updates are mirrored into the agent’s knowledge and kept in sync as you publish and unpublish, so the help center you write is also what the agent answers from. See AI agents.
- The inbox. AI reply and suggested replies draw on the same articles, and an article’s link can be pasted into a reply.
